I was all ready. February 29th, an auspicious date. The leap into the unknown on the leap day. But, at the 11th hour, a(n)... reprieve? additional sentence? I was asked if I'd be willing to take an extension of contract. Only 2 months. I agreed. Because, due to various bonuses and performance-related salary increase and the manner in which the redundancy payment is calculated, I could be in line for an extra couple of k, not to be refused at this juncture.

But of course, all plans (vague as they were) must go on hold now. I'm not sure what to feel. So I shan't ;P

Well....you could think of it as a temporary job which simply happens to look amazingly like your old job. With the same people. In the same place.

But with benefits which will profit you in the long run.

It's just an extension and you can leave when it's over. Everything you were (vaguely) planning will be there for you when this ends.

Or some such nonsense.

That'll do! It's a bit of an anticlimax, though...

True.

But when there's extra money in your pocket afterwards, you can have your work climax.

So to speak.
